Data Converters

Highpower's data converters are fully programmable and
configurable data converters that convert from one type of electronic data
signal to another. These converters are like the "swiss army knife" of
data converters in that they can be programmed to accept, convert, and then
output a wide variety of popular protocols.
The converters have two inputs and two outputs. One input
accepts either track 1 mag-stripe, track 2 mag-stripe or standard wiegand data.
The second input supports RS-232 serial data or serial data sent via USB
depending on which model you select. Each input is independently
configured and operated independently.
The converter supports full masking which allows you to
eliminate certain digits in the data and allows for data reorganization. The
converters can change the organization of wiegand bit streams, insert or
override site codes, id numbers, issue codes, and constants. Both MSB
modes and LSB modes are supported. Additionally, characters, numbers, or bits
can be deleted, inserted, or extracted from any received data prior to
transmission. Parity checking can also be enabled for the purpose of
reading standard legacy wiegand cards in both directions.
In addition to the data conversion features, the converters can
also perform bit dumps of received data through the serial port, bit by bit.
This is a useful function for debugging or identifying the bit streams from
proximity and mag-stripe cards. Serial-to-serial masking, and
pre-processing functions, to support Amtech toll tags, are also standard
features.
The data converters are also available with an on-board relay as
an option. This relay can be controlled with a software command.
Models with an "R" at the end of the part number include the relay option.
The data converters are housed in a compact attractive plastic housing and are
designed and assembled in U.S.A. Contact Highpower at 203-634-3900 for help
configuring the converter for your specific application.

Card Verifiers
The
"ProxCheck" is a stand alone card verifier and analyzer. It makes it quick
and easy to see the formatting and ID information of a particular proximity card
or fob. Swipe a proximity card or fob over it, and it instantly reads and
displays the card format and card ID information. The ProxCheck features a
bright and easy to read LED display. The ProxCheck displays card data in
binary, hexidecimal and numeric format. The ProxCheck reads HID, Farpointe
and AWID proximity cards of up to 64 bits in length. The device is useful
for field diagnostics, identifying card formats for system configuration, and
for identifying cards with worn-off printing causing the ID numbers to be
unreadable. ProxCheck can be used as a portable hand-held or table top
device as it can be powered off either two AA batteries, USB or via a plug in
wall transformer. Contact Highpower at 203-634-3900 for questions about
the ProxCheck verifier.
